Pull Factors
There are numerous pull factors to Northern Europe. One major pull factor is the education system, North Europe boasts an over 98% literacy rate and around 80% of the countries populations are able to hold a conversation in English. Another major pull factor to Northern Europe is the high GNI of $42,265. Because of that GNI, Northern European citizens are able to live a comfortable life without many worries for day to day necessities. Furthermore, the very high life expectancy in this region is one of the highest in the world, estimated to be around 79 years of age. This statistic is so high thanks to recent technological advances in medicine and security. Overall, Northern Europe is an extremely healthy region and because of its many pull factors, will remain that way for a long time.
Push Factors
Despite the many pull factors towards Northern Europe, some push factors do exist. One major push factor is the very dense population in some areas. In Northern Europe, the average amount of people living on a kilometer of land is 525 which a lot higher than the United States' 213. Another push factor from Northern Europe is specifically related to Muslims. In the wake of multiple terrorist attacks in Europe, people are feeling anxious and even scared of Muslims. This may cause Muslims to be persecuted just because of their race, therefore leading them to leave the region. In conclusion, Northern Europe is a very good region overall but still does have a few negative characteristics.
